Limestone Safety Fair

lfpd_dogMark your calendars saving Saturday October 8, 2016 for a day of fun and entertainment for the whole family. Limestone Fire Protection District is sponsoring a Safety Expo for the Community, at Station #3 (17651 East 76th St. North) from 10:00am until 4:00pm.

Spend the day at the Fire Station; meet the firefighters who train very hard to help the community when you call.

Look inside an ambulance, talk with the personnel, visit with the crew of the helicopter ambulance, meet your local Highway Patrol Officer (he will check car seat installations) and chat with a Channel 6 Storm Chaser and check out his truck. The Rogers County Deputies will be there to answer any questions you may have for them. The American Red Cross is bringing the “Blood Bus” if anyone over 18 wishes to donate blood; have your glucose and blood pressure checked by a paramedic. Meet a real life Chimney Sweep, he may even sing and dance with you. See the giant Dalmatian fire dog and pick up health and safety tips for your pets.

Watch the firefighters demonstration of saving someone from a wrecked car using the Jaws of Life. Meet the Swift Water rescue team with all of their equipment. Get up close and personal with fire trucks and our fully equipped, up to date, 2016 Rescue Truck. Have fun trying on a firefighter’s bunker gear and have your picture taken next to an antique fire truck.

For the kids we have games, a coloring contest, bounce house, spin the prize wheel and they can play Firefighter Plinko. For laugh-out-loud fun you can dunk a firefighter in a tank of water.

Bring your cameras for a day of fun and activities; the firefighters are excited and anxious to demonstrate to the community what they can do in an emergency situation when it counts.
