Good afternoon,

Here is a YouTube link to our latest video we’ve produced that contains our latest thoughts on winter weather impacts tonight into Wednesday: https://youtu.be/a3fYgZXL3eU

Key Points:

  • Winter Weather Advisories are in effect for much of northeast Oklahoma and portions of northwest Arkansas between midnight tonight and 3 PM tomorrow.
  • In northeast Oklahoma and Benton county, AR:
  • Snow/ sleet accumulations up to 2 inches.
  • Ice accumulations up to a light glaze.
  • In the higher terrain of northwest Arkansas (Carroll & Madison counties):
  • Ice accumulations near a tenth of an inch.
  • Trends are toward a higher impact from sleet and snow and a lower impact from freezing rain.
  • At least minor travel impacts are likely, with current data indicating a very low chance of isolated power impacts mainly in higher elevations of far northwest Arkansas.
  • Increasing concern that convective bursts/bands could lead to localized higher snow and/or sleet totals.
  • Low chance for isolated snow/sleet accumulations near warning criteria north of I-44.
